Possible Virus on Samsung After Crashed Browser

To make a long story short, I decided against my better judgment to view some webcomics using a sketchy website on my Samsung phone. Everything seemed normal until chrome crashed with a black screen, and I had to turn the display off and on again. I ran Avast anti-virus on it, and no problems came up. Then I shut down my phone and powered it on in safe mode, and I looked through for any sketchy apps, to which I found none. I didn’t find anything after checking, however, I’m not naive enough to think that my device is in the clear. Is there anything else I can check to see if my device has a virus? Or are there any known viruses that crash a browser and then hide in the background of an android phone?
